Maths

Our chosen Maths scheme is Ark Maths Mastery. Ark offers a meticulously sequenced and interlinked Reception, KS1 and KS2 maths curriculum.

The programme is carefully sequenced to enhance pupils’ understanding of maths. It is underpinned by the Dimensions of Depth, which address conceptual understanding, language & communication and mathematical thinking.

These support mathematical problem solving and enable pupils to make connections between topic areas, draw on representations to support their thinking and be prepared to articulate, justify and explain this thinking.

A collection of video guides from Oxford Owl, explaining mathematical strategies used in school and how parents can support their child's mathematical development at home.

Celebrating Maths Project

The Celebrating Maths Project is a series of three short videos written to give parents a range of mathematical games and puzzles to play with their children.

The first video, for parents of children aged 4-5, gives ideas for finding maths in everyday situations. The second and third videos, for ages 6-7 and 8+, give strategy games that can be played with simple equipment and an active mind!
