Martins Wood Primary School

Welcome

Welcome to Martins Wood Primary School.

We believe that Martins Wood Primary School is a very special place. Our impressive facilities, spacious building and grounds along with a dedicated and enthusiastic staff all help to create an attractive and enriching learning environment for all - from the two year olds in our pre-school through to the eleven year olds in Year Six.

Our motto, “Inspiring an ambition to learn,” underpins everything we do here. We aim to inspire your children in all kinds of ways. We aim to develop their ambition to strive for everything they want to achieve in their life, whether that be academic, sporting or artistic success. Above all we aim to ensure that they will develop a life-long love of learning.

We are very proud of the broad and balanced learning opportunities at Martins Wood and we are delighted to have received recognition for this in the 2019 Parliamentary Review (scroll down to see what they said about our school).

2019 Parliamentary Review

Each year the Parliamentary Review features details about a small number of schools that have been identified for best practice. When we asked why Martins Wood had be chosen from the hundreds of thousands of primary schools in the country we were told that they had noticed how we had quickly returned the school the Ofsted good category after the negative inspection of 2015 and that they had noticed how much praise we received for our broad and balanced curriculum in the 2017 inspection.

Mr Evans was interviewed for the publication and the entry for Martins Wood can be downloaded below.
